Johnnyhaha wins the 2014 Tournament of Champions

Congratulations to John 'johnnyhaha' Riesterer, winner of the inaugural Holdem Radio VIP Tournament of Champions held on Saturday, Jan. 31. He earns a custom built poker table from Off Tilt Poker Tables for the win.

There were 27 VIP members who qualified for the Tournament of Champions based on their play in freerolls each month, earning points in those freerolls to earn a spot in the championship event.

Riesterer outlasted Robert 'Dipster7' Seip in an excellent heads-up match to earn the title. Seip earned a set of Blue Shark Optics glasses valued at up to $239 for his runner-up finish.
Everett 'Mav116644 HR' Agbigay picked up a $400 value Season 1/Season 2 Platinum VIP Membership.

'Twas John's Night Before Holdem Radio Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the chat room

Not a member was missing, not even our Mascot;

The cards were all shuffled and readied with care,

In hopes that the dealers soon would be there;

The VIPs were all seated around their tables,

While visions of winning messed with their marbles;

And Camille in her Blue Shark optics, and Dan in his HR cap,

Had just convinced their minds it would be a snap,

When out on WPT there arose such a chatter,

We sprang from our seats to see what’s the matter.

Away from the chatroom we flew like a flash,

Opened the website and cleared out the cache.

The notice there made everyone frown

Said if the club members didn’t pay their dues it would be shut down

When what to our wondering eyes did appear,

But Lucky Sheets with his message NEVER FEAR,

Along came his driver so lively and hairy

We knew in a moment he must be Larry.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now, uggem! now, bustmyaces! now johnhoe and grinder!

On, Princess! on, Labuda! on, GTPoker and dipster!

To the top of the Leaderboard! to the top of the wall!

Now cash away! cash away! cash away all!"

They came and they conquered and saved the day

As they paid all the dues the notice went away;

So back to the tables the players all went

And prepared themselves for the coming event

And then, in a twinkling, we heard from Bmaster

You members are awesome, it couldn’t be done faster.

We heard ghosthai exclaim as he drove out of sight—

“Merry Christmas to all, and put up a good fight!”
